Silenced: A Political Poem

Happy Thanksgiving, y’all! I know most people try to avoid politics when they’re gathered around the turkey table, but I just wanted to share this with you real quick.

Earlier today I posted this poem on my second blog, Liternature.com. Now, Liternature.com is where I post my original poetry and short fiction, so I don’t often try to make a political statement there. But this poem just fits where we’re at as a society, or rather where leftists seem to want us to be as a culture. Please read it, share it, and refuse to submit to the silencing of our freedoms by speaking out!

Silenced

The oppressive silence

Kills every hint of sound

Nothing but compliance

Is allowed around

Suddenly we hear

The sound for which we’ve yearned

But a breath, and now it’s over

The silence has returned

Also, click here to check out Liternature.com for more of my original poetry and short fiction. There will also be book reviews coming soon!

Thanks for reading!
