Great Quotes: Doctrine

Too many Christians are doctrinally malnourished so that any bacteria or virus of heresy that comes their way soon wreaks havoc on their lives.

~ Conrad Mbewe

“I’ve often wondered where Jesus would apply His hastily made whip if He were to visit our culture. My guess is that it would not be money-changing tables in the temple that would feel His wrath, but the display racks in Christian bookstores.”

― R.C. Sproul

Nothing makes a man so virtuous as belief of the truth. A lying doctrine will soon beget a lying practice. A man cannot have an erroneous belief without by-and-by having an erroneous life. I believe the one thing naturally begets the other.

~ Charles Spurgeon

“To despise doctrine is to despise the Word of God.”

— R.C. Sproul

  1. The qoute in the image at the top of this article is especially important. This is why so many “cool calvinists” have fallen away from the truth and sometimes from the faith altogether. It’s not that the doctrine is wrong, it’s that they only believed the 5 points, and probably didn’t even get those from Scripture.
